I was born of Anglo-Irish parentage in the East End of London, the youngest of six and the only girl. Although I wrote from an early age my first ambition was to be an actress. After some bits and pieces of repertory theatre and a few walk-on/small parts in television I realised I didn't have the drive to pursue this path. So the writing came to the fore and has remained in the foreground ever since.
I write both fiction and non-fiction. My first published book (1987) was commissioned by SPCK and called Solo, A Positive Guide to Living Alone. I'm also the Press and PR officer for the Westminster Diocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes and I produce the booklet for this event each year. My fiction work really took off in 2013 when the fiction imprint of Lion Hudson published my murder mystery novel, Game, Set and Murder. Dead Gorgeous followed in 2014. They both feature Detective Inspector Angela Costello and her team and I hope will be the first two of many.
