Marion Stroud, Devotional Writer, Journalist and Non-fiction (Adult) Writer
Marion Stroud's first book was written for a competition for unpublished authors of children's books. She won joint second prize, the book was published and she wrote two more children's stories, before turning to adult non-fiction. Loving God but still Loving You was written for women who come to faith or return to faith after they were married and don't share that faith with their husbands. It was reprinted three times, published in the USA, translated into French and remained in print for 15 years. All her 22 adult books have been written in response to a 'gap in the market.' She is the author of the popular Lion Gift of series. These 5 titles were translated into 14 different languages and sold somewhere in the region of 1,000,000 copies in various formats, over 30+ years.
She has written Bible reading notes for CWR's Inspiring Women, and currently contributes to Our Daily Bread.
She is a founder member and past Chair of the UK Association of Christian Writers and is a cross cultural trainer for Media Associates. In this role she has worked extensively with Bulgarian writers to found and develop Leah magazine and is now helping them with the Leah Library - a list of books written by Bulgarian women for Bulgarian women. She has travelled extensively to help in MAI writers workshops and has taught at both Mount Hermon Writers Conference and the American Christian Fiction Writers Conference in the USA. She is represented by Mary Keeley, from Books and Such Literary Management.
Originally trained as a physiotherapist, Marion has been a magistrate, volunteered for her local BBC radio station, and began writing when her 1st child was born. She has 5 children and 16 grandchildren, and enjoys entertaining, travel, reading, walking and the theatre with her husband, who is a retired dentist. They are both active members of Woodside Church in Bedford.
Available for... I enjoy talking to readers and groups of any size - either talking specifically about writing or other devotional and practical topics, such as fostering, marriage and family or cancer. Am comfortable with radio interviews.
